Well, I think I'm gonna do an idea that I've had for a while. The idea is of doing a 13-14 episode arch under the series name:
20th Century FOX Presents: FOX Affiliates Presents: Fuzzy Door Productions Presents: Ptv Presents: B-ri Griffin Productions Presents: Family Guy Presents: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
I know that it's a long title. That's the joke! The idea is that Brian was doing them as "Family Guy LIVE!" productions in Quahog, then Ptv aired them as a mini-series, then Seth MacFarlane came in to help make a series of specials out of them, then FOX "decided to air them", then "20th Century FOX" was added to fuck with people! Do ya' get it! :-)
Any who, I've had the idea of doing this idea for a while. I think I was listening The Tragic Treasury: Songs from A Series of Unfortunate Events one day when I thought how cool it would be if they used the songs in Family Guy, and then I came up with the idea of writing a series of episodes based off of the books.
I've had the idea on my mind for a while, but I didn't think I could do it before when, well, I thought my script had a chance of being produced. But I toyed with the idea of it being a DVD series. I even thought about modeling the DVD cases off the book designs.
I had pretty much given up on the whole idea, but then, via twitter, "Freakin' Sweet News" crushed my dreams [:-)] by saying that it would be unlikely that my scrips would be produced. So, one day, while daydreaming in Math class, I was running the idea in my head again, and I thought, "Hey, I won't air, so why can't I do it?!"
So far, the only characters I've casted are Meg as Violet Baudelaire, Chris as Klaus Baudelaire, and Stewie as Stewie Baudelaire (replacing "Sunny"). I'm thinking of casting Justin McFinngan as Count Olaf, Brian as the Hook-Handed Man, Peter as Mr. Poe, Jewl Pewtersmidt and Rachel ???? as The Two-White-Faced Women, Lois as Beatrice Baudelaire, Danny Smith as Bertrand Baudelaire (referencing the crush he has on Lois), Seth Green as Daniel Handler, and Seth MacFarlane as Lemony Snicket.
I also have a few running bits I want to do. I think I'm gonna include the new detail that Bertrand Baudelaire has taught all his children (Violet, Klaus, and Stewie) how to play the guitar and that he had given them a "flame-retardant guitar" before he perished. They take the guitar with them everywhere they go, and in every episode, they, at some point, "write" the corresponding song on The Tragic Treasury: Songs from A Series of Unfortunate Events (i.e.: Scream and Run Away for the first episode, In the Reptile Room for the second, ect, ect.) And, you know how Stewie can talk but no one knows what he says. Well, I think I'm gonna have Stewie Baudelaire be able to speak perfect english and many, many other languages, but, for some reason, only Violet and Klaus can understand them.
Well, I guess that's it. Any comments would be appreciated. Okay. Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.
